Review: La Prairie Cellular Balancing Mask

Hi guys! you got combination skin? Oily T-zone, blackheads around nose area and occasionally break outs? Let's try this La Prairie Cellular Balancing Mask. It's a unique at-home peeling facial, a supplement to daily cleansing and exfoliating. I bought it few weeks ago and tried once only, let's see the results.

This mask set contains 6 solvent, 6 powdered substance, 1 facial brush and 1 small plate. This intensive two-phase treatment suppose to dissolves away dulling surface cells, embedded oils and impurities. It actually helps brighten the complexion by improving its tone, texture and clarity.

"Before":
My bare face after washing, no makeup, no skincare products on. My skin is a bit sensitive, it always appear red after washing, and the large pores and blackheads are so obvious. It's really hard to maintain our skin in perfect condition in such a hot and humid country.

Let's start with squeezing out the solvent and mix it with the powder in the plate.

It's amazing that it starts to froth..........when the bubbling action stops, use the facial brush to mix the two phases into a smooth, foamy cream mask. It was very fun to "make" the mask by yourself, like doing chemical experiment in high school. : )

Then apply it on entire face except eye area, with the brush in gentle, circular motions. Don't worry, the facial brush is very soft, I believe it can eliminate the dirt and helps to clean clogged pores. It starts to sting a bit but disappears within minutes. After 5-10 mins, rinse thoroughly with warm water.

"After":
Let's see the results:

My skin looks clean and brighter than "before". But I wasn't actually wowed by the results, for such high retail price, it should produce way more than average results. I find you can get the same results from some cheaper clay mask, like Aesop Primrose Facial Cleansing Masque I reviewed before.

Will I purchase it again? Hmmm....probably not, the CP (cost performance) value is too low.

Recommendation is to use it once a week for oily skin, twice a month for normal skin, once a month for normal to dry or as needed.
