All about Mascara

If there is only one makeup item to choose, I would pick mascara..

Here is our mascara collection, which we've been using all the time...

We chose seven of them for today's "mascara competition",  and we will compare them in terms of length, volume and price.

I always admire gals who has big eyes and thick lashes, just like our eye model (my friend) today, I wish I could replace hers with mine.. :D

Here is her naked eyes, without any mascara and hasn't been curled.

She was busy with applying and removing mascaras the whole afternoon, poor gal....

1) Kiss Me Long & Amp; Curl Mascara (price: less than SGD20)

This mascara enhances the lashes by adding some length and a bit volume, but has a little clumps.

My Skin Care Routine -- Dermalogica

I have been using Dermalogica skin care products on and off for about 2 years.

I must say a big "Thank You" to dermalogica, because it helped me to get out of the nightmare, acne.

I used to surfer from serious acne and black heads problem, and I tried lots of different brands of skin care products, but none of them really helped, until I approached one of the dermalogica counters at town area.

After experiencing their famous "skin mapping" technology and also a round of detailed questionnaire about my skin condition and life style, my skin was diagnosed very sensitive and dry. The reason was because I used a lot of products specially for oily and acne prone skin, some of them contains AHA, which caused my skin very dry and sensitive.

The sales assistant recommended a set, which is for sensitive skin. She explained that skin sensitivity is the root cause of many skin problems, like aging, acne, ect. She suggested me to focus on calming and soothing my irritated skin first, if I still have acne problem after I finish the set then switch to another series, which is for acne but not sensitive skin type.

Lunasol Eye Shadow Palette GEMINATE EYES 01 Cat's Eye, 05 Ruby

We are big fans of Lunasol cosmetics, though we love NARS as well. :D

Lunasol Geminate Eye Shadow series has been released for almost three years, but eyeshadow palette 01 CE and 05 RB are still very popular now. All of us own at least one of them, especially 01 CE.

Each palette includes a highlighter, medium color, shadow color, eyeliner color and glitter shade (center).The center color has more glitter than the other four, normally we use fingertip lightly apply a bit on the center of the eyelid to enhance the shine.

Albion Essential Skin Conditioner

Albion, one of the most famous brands in Japan, founded in 1956. And this essential skin conditioner is Albion's most popular skincare product.

It was highly recommended by my friend, meimei. She has been using it for a while and she was impressed by its whitening effect. So she bought me one from Taiwan, which costs 2900NT$, about S$127, it's quite expensive for a bottle of toner, 330ml.

Amazing Spawater Cream

 

The full name is TANKOKUSEN (炭黑泉) Spawater Cream， I got it from Hokkaido, Sounkyo (层云峡) hot spring hotel, it's about 3150Yan.

The introduction written on the box:

化粧水、乳液、美容液、美白液、下地クリームが1つになった人気の美容クリーム。
プラセンタエキス・コエンザイムQ10・ヒアルロン酸・コラーゲン・温泉水・黒砂糖・竹炭エキス等の濃密な潤い成分で一日中潤いに包まれます。
The main ingredient is Hokkaido spring water, and also Q10 etc.
What makes it so special is that it is an "all-in-one" cream, it combines toner, serum, sunblock, makeup base etc into one bottol, don't believe it? Let's try it out!

Nars Jolie Poupee - A Little Taste of Purple

Another high rating Nars DUO in MUA (Average rating 4.9). If you love purple eyeshadow, then definitely you should get this one.

Jolie Poupee, meaning baby doll, is from the NARS Holiday 2008 collection.

Right: violet shimmer


I did a simple eye make up mainly using this duo, though my eyes have nothing to do with baby doll at all....

My Favorite Hand Cream

I am a kind of person who cannot survive without hand cream and lip balm.  I usually sleep in an air conditioning room so I have to use hand cream and lip balm before I go to bed every night to prevent from dryness.

These are the 4 different brands of hand cream I am currently using (I can't help to open up and try out different brands at the same period of time ^_^).

In the picture from left to right, they are:

1. B&C (Japanese brand): I got it from HK last year, I was attracted by the pear shape. It's so cute, looks and smells just like a real fresh pear.
2. Jurlique (Australia brand): Jurlique is famous at its hand cream, mine is citrus scent.
3. HABA (Japanese brand): This is a limited edition hand cream with Bulgarian Rose scent.
4. NUXE (Franch brand): Hand and Nail cream for repairing, nourishing and protecting.

• Texture, rank from thick to light

Jurlique > NUXE > HABA > B&C

Nars Blade Runner . . .

I got this duo from HongKong Nars counter, price was affordable.
It's a great pity that we cannot get it in Singapore..


I love this duo (actually I love most of nars palettes, which shows I'm a big fan of Nars）<3

Blade Runner is a duo shadow of blackened Emerald green and dark coppery brown. It's an amazing combination. Both colors are very pretty and richly pigmented. I bought this one mainly because of the shimmering green color. But this duo is hard to use, esp for Asian eyes.

My Recent Skin Care Haul: Cellex-C Sensitive Serum Two Step Starter Kit

I'm very happy with my recent skin care haul, Cellex-C Sensitive Serum Two Step Starter Kit (94USD). I have been using them for about two weeks and they do really work.

Nars Misfit

Some friends asked abt Misfit duo, I did  a simple eye makeup using this duo. It's unique green color tht I never saw before .

Light Smoky - NARS essential eye palette 9952 Thunderball

Nars essential eye palette (9952) belongs to the NARS 2009 summary collections. It's never easy to get Nars in Singapore, and I have waited for half a year for this baby to reach me.....

Though the modern love palette (9951) is more popular than 9952, I do have a crash on 9952, which caught my heart at the fisrt sight, especially the shade thunderball, with a cool cadet grey, perfect for light smoky eyes (the right bottom one).
